Skill Work & The End of the Open

Happy Hump Day! Where does the time go? I could ask Daylight Savings Time, since that happened not that long ago and I am one of about 16 people who appreciates it. That extra hour means I actually get to leave work and have not only daylight, but sunshine. Hooray!

The last week of the Open is here! It’s insane how quickly these five weeks have flown by, and overall I’ve been very happy with how I’ve done. In my region (Northern California) in the scaled division, I am in 24th place. Not bad out of 865 people! This last workout, 16.4, was as follows:

Twitter & Jump Ropes

Oh my gosh! Internet! I did something incredible! I signed up for Twitter! Follow me, yes?

Other than being quite possibly the last person on earth to join Twitter, I want to talk to you about jump ropes. Yes, those things we used as children in PE class. Turns out they’re still fun as an adult, and they can provide a crazy hard workout that will leave your shoulders on fire and your lungs burning and begging you to stop. Why yes! I am talking about double unders!

The CrossFit Games Are Coming!

This month has pretty a great month for traveling. I spent 8 days in beautiful Wyoming, and now I’m going down to the less than beautiful Carson, CA for 6 days to watch the Reebok CrossFit Games. I know that everyone is supposed to swoon over southern California’s supposed beauty, but…no. Sorry. Too much traffic, tons of smog and too many people. But they do have beaches that are actually warm, so…I guess I can kind of see the appeal.
